We are used to the fact that when there is a natural disaster in the state, we call in soldiers to help. Likewise, now, in the coronavirus crisis. Members of the Czech Armed Forces help overworked medical staff in hospitals, work at the Regional Hygiene Stations, create mobile collection points, alternate drivers at the Prague Rescue Service, build a field hospital and now they will even serve in vaccination centers…
Only few people realize that at the same time, a normal training year is taking place in the Czech Army, which cannot be interrupted during a pandemic. In addition to regular training, new adepts are also recruited for service in the army, units are prepared before being sent to foreign missions, the army must also continuously ensure the protection of airspace within NATO and many other activities of the armed forces.
But even the military does not avoid the threat of coronavirus. And so, in addition to active assistance in the civilian sector, soldiers must, for example, find a completely new system of command and control of the army as part of antiepidemiological measures, and even they are introducing the so-called home office. They deserve a big thank you for making everything so great. I am proud of you, our soldiers. I wish you all good health and a quick return to normal life.
